Do I Need Treatment with LAPIP?
If you have developed an infection around a set of dental implants or have progressing gum disease that is affecting your dental implants, you may need to undergo LAPIP to eradicate the infection in the mouth. Like the LANAP® protocol, LAPIP works by targeting infected tissues to destroy periodontal pathogens and endotoxins. We use the PerioLase MVP-7 soft tissue laser to kill bacteria and restore the health of damaged tissues.
Dealing with Dental Implant Failure
Even though dental implants have a high success rate, there is still a risk of complications with dental implant placement and total failure of the procedure. Dental implants are designed to replace missing teeth by fusing artificial teeth directly into the jawbone. If the implant fails to integrate completely with the jaw bone, becomes loose, falls out, or you develop an infection around the base of the implant, you may need surgery or other procedures to correct the problem.
