More healthy for you: Digital x-rays require less exposure than the old style x-rays. Dr. Clark can move the mouse over the image and change the contrast and brightness of the x-ray. This can improve the quality of the available image, improving visualization of the problem and preventing retakes.
"Green" x-rays: Digital x-rays are environmentally friendly. The x-ray image goes directly to the computer. There are no developer nor fixer solutions(which contain silver) to recycle or dispose of in sewer systems or landfills. There are also no silver covered x-ray films to dispose of when they are not needed. Traditional dental x-ray films come in a packet with a small lead liner. Digital x-rays do not create a pile of lead sheets to recycle either.
